After more than 20 years working with clients as a paralegal and client services manager, I started Immigration Matters Consulting because I noticed a recurring and persistent need for someone who could make the business immigration process easier for all parties involved.
Small and mid-size companies without a foreign national population large enough to justify hiring in-house immigration professionals may assign immigration matters to employees who are not familiar enough to feel comfortable with it, or who simply do not have the bandwidth to handle it. The company may even pass on the opportunity to hire a great employee just to avoid the complicated immigration process all together.
I want to be the knowledgeable immigration resource your company calls on to "bridge the gaps" in the immigration process: someone who understands the legal requirements; someone who can directly help the company manage its obligations; someone who can connect all the stakeholders - Managers, Human Resources, Foreign National employees, and Legal Counsel - in a meaningful way. And best of all for your bottom line: I will be there only when you need me.
Larger companies with their own immigration professionals have different needs. When staffing shortages occur because employees leave or take vacations/leaves of absence, or the workload increases temporarily because the government announced a last minute change to filing rules, you may need temporary coverage to stay afloat. Hiring an inexperienced worker who needs training often creates more work for employees already stretched thin. You might need someone to audit your internal processes and make objective suggestions on how to improve things, or someone to create internal processes customized to your specific business needs and capabilities. I can do all of those things.
If you are a solo practitioner or from a law firm, you may need temporary paralegal assistance, or someone to bring a new perspective to get things running more efficiently, or assistance with reporting and analytics, or help updating your filing system. I have worked for a solo practitioner, a full-service law firm, and a large immigration-only firm and I can "hit the ground running" to meet all your needs.
Maybe you do not fit into any of the categories described above but need occasional help with immigration matters. For example, you work at a property management company where you are required to review immigration documents and could benefit from speaking with someone with immigration experience but you do not need legal counsel. I can help with that too.
I am broadly skilled in the field of immigration and I am passionate about organization and efficiency, reducing stress, and saving time and money. Let's discuss what I can do for you.
